Carbon Sequestration by Aquatic Microalgae in India—A State of the Art Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Carbon dioxide sequestration by aquatic micro algae appears to be the most promising, environmental friendly and cost effective means of reducing carbon dioxide emission in the energy sector. Carbon sequestering–capturing and storing carbon emitted from the global energy system by such photo-bioreactors could be a major tool for reducing atmospheric CO2 emissions. Such carbon sequestration technologies could be ideally incorporated and best applied in connection with large-scale energy conversion plants such as coal power plants and oil refineries. Carbon sequestration offers the possibility for new industrial applications such as the production of hydrogen, together with electricity, from fossil fuels. This paper provides a state of he art review on this subject.

Estimation of Soil Carbon Sequestration Rate in Steppes (Case Study: Saveh Rudshur Steppes)
Since Renaissance, the natural ecosystems have fallen into a complete state ofdisarray due to the rise in the amount of carbon dioxide. Soil, the unsparing stuff, is one of themajor sources of carbon storage, and plays a paramount role in the global equilibrium ofcarbon as well as carbon sequestration. Given that Iran is benefiting from vast steppes, therate of carbon sequestration in them dese...

Greenhouse gases (GHG) are a serious threat to humans and environment. Greenhouse gases have been different sources, but main factors are fossil fuels, industrial processes, deforestation and agriculture. What is now more than ever before should be considered according to the role of forests and rangelands in atmospheric carbon sequestration? Carbon sequestration is to changes in atmospheric ca...
متن کاملTemporal study of Solduz wetland microalgae in southern part of Lack Urmia
Phytoplankton is one of the main components of wetlands, which plays a vital role in providing nutrients, oxygen for other organisms, stabilizing nitrogen and carbon dioxide. In the meantime, the current status of Lake Urmia highlights the need to conserve and protect wetlands related to these ecosystems and their living and non-living components. Therefore, this study was conducted to assist i...
متن کاملIdentifying Carbon Sequestration Hotspots in Semiarid Rangelands (Case study: Baghbazm region of Bardsir city, Kerman province)
Carbon sequestration in rangeland ecosystems has been identified as a suitable strategy to offset greenhouse gas emissions that information of carbon sequestration hotspots is a good tool to improve rangeland management. Objectives for this study were to assessment potential carbon sequestration in various rangeland types, to identify carbon sequestration hotspots and to study the effective fact...
متن کاملThe Effect of Stocking Rate on Carbon Sequestration of Prangos ferulacea (Case Study: Gorgou Summer Rangelands, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, Iran)
Rangelands are the most important ecosystem for carbon sequestration. Knowledge of plant response to grazing is one of important requirements for rangeland management. Stocking rate is one of main factors in destruction of the vegetation cover in rangeland ecosystems. Livestock grazing has the potential to substantially alter carbon storage in grassland ecosystem. This study examined the effect...
